Champions Insurance From Zimbabwe Partners With EOSDA
EOS Data Analytics (EOSDA), a global AI-powered satellite imagery analytics provider, has partnered with Champions Insurance, a Zimbabwean company specializing in short-term insurance for agribusinesses. Champions Insurance aims to incorporate more innovative solutions into local farmers’ lives to push sustainability and development of agriculture in the region.
Under the partnership, Champions Insurance will use satellite imagery-based precision agriculture online platform EOSDA Crop Monitoring for remote field management, with the possibility of adding soil moisture parameters for its clients.
Agriculture is a vital sector in Southern Africa, contributing significantly to GDP and employment. In Zimbabwe, this rate is 27% of GDP . The industry includes both smallholder farming and large-scale commercial agriculture, with crops such as maize, tobacco, cotton, and horticultural products being significant contributors. However, the sector faces challenges such as climate variability, market access, and productivity issues.
Champions Insurance is actively supporting farmers and showing them there are ways to help with those challenges. The company wants to increase awareness about the crop monitoring system among critical stakeholders across target regions in Zimbabwe. The expected result is a significant number of early adopters who can provide feedback and testimonials. Once this is achieved, the long-term approach would be to promote widespread adoption of the crop monitoring system among farmers and agricultural stakeholders across the country.
Champions Insurance uses the functionality of EOSDA Crop Monitoring and looks into Advanced Soil Moisture Analytics to provide top-tier, technology-based insurance and risk management services for its clients. The company representatives are willing to gather feedback from their customers and pass it on to EOSDA’s team for further product improvements.
Champions Insurance expects the partnership with EOS Data Analytics to significantly expand our crop monitoring system adoption among smallholder farmers and agricultural enterprises. We aim to create meaningful impact by improving agricultural productivity, optimizing resource use, and supporting sustainable farming practices.
Champions Insurance and EOS Data Analytics will collaborate to promote and integrate the crop monitoring system across Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector. It will involve cooperation and joint initiatives to enhance agricultural productivity, sustainability, and technological innovation.
We are excited to announce a strategic collaboration between Champions Insurance and EOSDA, advancing agricultural risk management and innovation across Africa. This partnership combines Champions’ deep expertise in insurance and risk management in the agricultural sector with EOSDA’s cutting-edge crop monitoring technology. Together, we will empower farmers with robust tools and solutions to enhance productivity, sustainability, and resilience in the face of climate challenges. This strategic collaboration underscores our commitment to driving positive change in the agricultural sector, harnessing innovation to address the evolving needs of farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
Champions Insurance intends to expand regionally. Sustainable agriculture is a new and emerging trend in Africa. EOSDA is there to help companies like Champions Insurance spread the word about the available market tools in that regard. Partners will join forces to promote technological development and precision farming among African farmers.
