Soil organic carbon modeling & mapping
Get modeling and mapping of soil organic carbon to make crop management more sustainable and generate carbon credits.
This solution allows you to calculate the amount of soil organic carbon and modulate its temporal dynamics. We use a modified Soil Organic Carbon model based on the attested model for the turnover of the organic carbon in the soil – RothC, used by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) – complemented with a number of added parameters, including topography characteristics, ecological factors, and soil treatment techniques. When all of these parameters and factors are taken into account, you get a significantly more accurate model compared to a simple interpolation method.
With data thus obtained, you can:
– improve decision-making as to the allocation of resources (e.g. practicing variable-rate application), thus making agricultural production more sustainable;
– use the model as a baseline for the carbon credit generation, creating a more positive footprint at a higher profit;
– create accurate soil maps.
All we need from your side is geo-referenced soil samples – and you’re good to go.
