BlackSky Imagery Expands The EOSDA LandViewer Offering
EOSDA LandViewer, a comprehensive satellite analytics platform, continues to grow its network of sources, now integrating BlackSky imagery. This step brings very high-resolution data from the BlackSky Gen-3 and Gen-2 constellations directly into the EOSDA LandViewer interface. Becoming a BlackSky reseller greatly expands the range of tools offered for our users who need detail, frequency, and speed of delivery.
With the integration of BlackSky products, EOSDA LandViewer takes its high-resolution satellite data catalog to the next level. BlackSky satellites have been in orbit since 2018, and their growing number means users can get plenty of detailed imagery over long periods of time. This opens new opportunities for time series analysis and change detection, which were previously limited due to smaller constellations from other providers.
The integration encompasses two generations of BlackSky’s dense satellite constellations, each with distinct strengths. BlackSky Gen-2 (Global series) delivers resolution of 0.85 meters per pixel at nadir and covers panchromatic and RGB bands. It provides consistent and reliable coverage at an affordable price.

BlackSky Gen-3 represents the next step, reaching 0.35 meters per pixel at nadir with panchromatic and RGB bands available globally. It’s optimized for high-performance point target collection.
BlackSky satellites can revisit areas up to 15 times per day, making them among the most responsive sources of optical data currently available. Gen-3 data is coming soon to EOSDA customers.

Becoming a BlackSky reseller is an important step in making EOSDA LandViewer a truly multi-source platform. With the access to high-resolution BlackSky imagery, our customers gain the flexibility to tailor monitoring to their specific needs, from wide-area coverage to near real-time tasking.
Thanks to its scale, BlackSky can provide not just detail, but also consistency — images that keep coming in at regular intervals throughout the day. The ability to return to the same site many times in one day makes it possible to follow changes as they happen and react without delay. This speed and coverage help support decisions in agriculture, urban development, defense and intelligence, emergency management, and other time-sensitive fields.
The range of BlackSky products now available through EOSDA LandViewer includes:
- Daytime. Satellite imagery with an average resolution of 1 meter, collected throughout the day (from early morning till evening) and delivered within 90 minutes after collection.
- Nighttime. Panchromatic Gen-2 imagery of artificially illuminated areas collected at night. Currently, it is available only at tasking.
- Object detection. Allows for automated detection and analysis of buildings, roads, ports, and airfields, particularly useful for intelligence missions.
- Area 2×1. These wide-area scenes, consisting of two images acquired in a single path with an overlap of about 20%, provide more context for analyzing large objects.
- Stereo. Stereo pairs are best for uniform terrain (available in the archive), and Stereo sets are best for complex terrain (at tasking).
- Burst. These data sequences capture the motion of aircraft and vessels. They help analyze their speed and direction and calculate their future locations.
These features by BlackSky will allow EOSDA LandViewer users to customize how they watch and analyze their areas of interest. They can focus on what exactly changes and how the situation evolves in near real time. By searching through imagery archives and tasking BlackSky satellites, EOSDA LandViewer users can effortlessly get the high-resolution data they need.
